NBA Twitter reacts to DeMarcus Cousins, Meyers Leonard getting LA tryouts
The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly going to check out two free-agent big men as they look for help in the frontcourt.
Shams Charania of The Athletic said that DeMarcus Cousins and Meyers Leonard are going to work out with the team on Friday.
This is something that many NBA fans may not have thought would happen.
Everyone on NBA Twitter listened closely to that news, and it didn't take long for social media to fill up with hilarious to incredibly hilarious responses to the Lakers' plans to schedule a workout with Cousins and Leonard.
eonard last played for the Miami Heat in the NBA in the 2020-21 season.
In March 2021, when he was livestreaming a game, he used an anti-Semitic slur.
This got him suspended for life. The Heat then traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he couldn't play for the Thunder because his salary was just used to make the trade work.
Meyers' career averages are only 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, but he could be a reliable floor-stretcher for the Lakers because he shot 39.0 percent from beyond the arc before.
Cousins, on the other hand, was Nikola Jokic's backup for the Denver Nuggets in the 2021–22 NBA season.
Cousins played in 31 games for the Nuggets. In those games, he averaged 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 13.9 minutes of court time.
